The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas is the only local college in Batangas City; the capital city of the Province of Batangas which has a distinguished history in the field of education. From its humble beginning in 2005, it has continued to commit itself to serving financially challenged but deserving students.

CLB Showcases its Artists Through PintaHusay

July 15, 2024 - As part of the 55th Foundation Celebration of Batangas City, the local government gave chances for young artists to showcase their remarkable talent in painting through the first ever PintaHusay: On the Spot Painting Competition with the theme "Pamanang Kinagisnan, Kulturang Pinagyayaman" held at Plaza Mabini on July 15, 2024.

Different schools from private and public institutions joined the competition including Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas. Julie Delgado and Melvin Ebora, both first year from Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and member of Artisans Guild accepted the challenge to represent the CLB in the said competition. Ebora is also a proud CLIMB member and artist.

They both underwent training with the guidance of CLB Artisans Guild Adviser and Vice President for Administration and Finance, Mr. Andrew Brian Deguito.

The competition was judged by well-known and award-winning artists in the Philippines and other countries including Mr. Abelardo “Bill” Perez, Mr. Loriel “Yelcast” Castillo and Mr. Virgilio Cuizon.

Judges gave messages to the young artists of Batangas and provided insights on how they can improve their skills in painting. All participants used acrylic paint in 18x24 inches canvas, paint palette and paint brush in a 4-hour time duration.

Paintings from the said competition will be exhibited in the Amphitheater of Plaza Mabini on July 22 and 23.

Batangas City Hosts Blood Olympics 2024 in Celebration of Word Blood Donors Day

June 14, 2024 - Batangas City commemorated World Blood Donors Day with the "Blood Olympics 2024." Held at the Batangas City Coliseum and organized by the City Health Office (CHO), this event brought together donors from various sectors, including enthusiastic participation from students of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) and other CLB personnel.

World Blood Donors Day, This year, Batangas City took it a step further by organizing the Blood Olympics, an event designed to celebrate donors and encourage others to contribute to this vital cause.

The Blood Olympics 2024 also featured educational booths where attendees could learn about the importance of blood types, the screening process for donors, and the impact of blood donations on community health. Informational sessions were conducted by healthcare professionals to dispel myths and encourage more people to become regular blood donors. With the support of institutions like Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas and the dedication of community members, Batangas City reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a stable and safe blood supply for all who need it.

World Blood Donors Day may be a single day of recognition, but in Batangas City, the spirit of giving continues to thrive year-round, ensuring that every donation counts in saving lives and building a healthier community.
