WHAT IS GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING SERVICES?

GCO is committed to be of help to students, parents, educators and other stakeholders in fostering good mental health, resilience and proactive attitudes of each member of the CLB family engaging in a collaborative, healthy and harmonious working relationship brought by the sudden changes and challenges associated with the new normal.

Counseling/Telecounseling
The heart of the guidance program which aims to address the student's needs by going through a structured, theoretical, collaborative working relationship of the counselor and his/her counselee (student/s).

Information
With the use of psycho-educational, information- giving methodologies through different virtual and social media platforms, webinars and other alternative modalities such as worksheets and printed modules.

Individual Inventory
A systematic method of recording significant information about students which is used in the implementation of guidance services.

VISION

The vision of the Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO) is to be an integral part of school’s total educational program and to be essential for every student’s success. A program that reaches every student and emphasizes a more proactive, wellness- oriented approach.

MISSION

The Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO) is directed to provide services that will maximize students’ potential to become self-directive, socially responsible and well-rounded professionals and servant-leaders in the future.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The Guidance and Counseling Office (GCO) aims to deliver guidance services aligned with the CLB GCO YACAP U core directions:

a. Encourage CLBians toward meaningful self- discovery through various Youth Advocacies and Collaborative Activities thereby maximize students’ potentialities to become Positive and/or Productive individuals who are Gearing towards Compassion for humanity thereby helping the students in exploring their Optimum capabilities, realistically grounded with respect to their individual differences and diverse culture.

b. Help students to come up with responsible decision making through insightful and educated choices in resolving daily problems and challenges.

c. Assist the students in all areas for self-improvement by providing information services through psychoeducational, information-giving methodologies via different virtual and social media platforms, webinars and other alternative modalities such as worksheets, brochures and printed modules.

d. Provide a systematic procedures in gathering information about the students through appraisal, intake interviews and individual portfolios that serve as reference in providing well-planned program and intervention for students thereby ensuring highest regard of confidentiality and as stated in Data Privacy Act.

e. Promote holistic approach in supporting the students in dealing with personal, academic, social and emotional challenges and concerns through providing counseling, follow up sessions and referral system via virtual consultation, virtual counseling and virtual conferences aligned with the new normal.

SERVICES OFFERED

Referral and Follow-up

Referral of the students who need counseling service or further assistance from other professionals and monitoring of their progress.

Appraisal

Gathering information about students through the use of psychological test and non- psychometric device.
