The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas is the only local college in Batangas City; the capital city of the Province of Batangas which has a distinguished history in the field of education. From its humble beginning in 2005, it has continued to commit itself to serving financially challenged but deserving students.

DaSikLakasan 2024 Goes Into Full Throttle With A Grand Opening

The Dasiklakasan 2024 went into full throttle as it began its 4-day event from April 16-19, 2024 with a grand opening that shows a precursor of what lies ahead. The non-sports categories started the event with the 6 programs vying for the coveted overall championship. The 6 teams who will be slugging it out in our annual Dasiklakasan include BSBA-Marketing’s Hornets which is our defending overall champion, the perennial powerhouse BPED Titans, the ever-determined BSA Badger Brigade, the always ready-to-pounce BTLED Terabyte, the silent yet always reliable BEED Pendragon Knights and the new blood BSBA - FM and HRM Neophyte Blazers.

The first set of awards the Program Trailer competition is being announced. The BSBA Major in Marketing Management Hornets soared to victory, claiming the coveted first-place spot with their captivating trailer. BTLED Terabyte secured second place, followed by BPED Titans in third The Digital Banner competition saw the BSBA Major in Financial Management and Human Resources Management Neophyte Blazers emerged victorious as the champions, while BSBA Major in Marketing Management Hornets secured the runner-up spot. BEED Pendragon Knights claimed third place, showcasing their talent and skill in digital design.

The Aerobics and Wellness Dance Competition winners have been revealed. BSBA Marketing Management Hornets clinched the top spot, while BSA Badger Brigade secured second place and BSBA Financial Management and Human Resource Management Neophyte Blazers claimed the third spot.

Amidst cheers and anticipation, the winners of MR. AND MS. DASIKLAKASAN 2024 has been announced, Rodel Fajilan from BTLED and Vanessa Gante from BEED emerged as the champions, clinching the prestigious titles of Mr. and Ms. Dasiklakasan 2024. Morie Josh Untiveros from BSA and Cristine Quinto from BSBA major in Marketing Management secured the first runner-up positions, while Justine Alcantara from BEED and Alexandra Veraine Lontoc from BSA claimed the second runner-up spots.

Student Executive Council Empowers Organization Officers Through Team Building Event

Student Executive Council (SEC) launched the much-anticipated Team Building event for all organization officers, held at the CLB vicinity on April 6-7. Spearheaded by the SEC officers, the event carried the theme "Building Tomorrow's Leaders: In the Spirit of Unity and Achievement."

The first segment of the event delved into the significance and essence of leadership within the student body, featuring esteemed resource speaker Mr. Nelbert Magbanua. He eloquently encapsulated the essence of leadership, emphasizing that a leader possesses a keen sense of direction and can articulate the path forward for their team or organization. This entails not only understanding the current landscape but also envisioning the desired future state and devising a plan to bridge the gap between the two. Furthermore, Mr. Magbanua highlighted the multifaceted role of a leader, who must serve as a mentor, coach, and role model, providing guidance, support, and encouragement to their team members. Effective communication, mentorship, and recognition were emphasized as pivotal tools in cultivating a culture of continuous learning, growth, and excellence.

As organization leaders of the esteemed institution, the participants pledged to uphold the core tenets of leadership - authenticity, integrity, and accountability. They affirmed their commitment to demonstrating unwavering dedication and resilience in the face of challenges. By immersing themselves in their work and embodying the values they espouse, the student leaders of CLB aim to earn the respect and trust of their followers, thereby fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility.

Junior Marketing Association - CLB Chapter Joins Annual Juan Big Idea Nationwide Event

On March 23, 2024, the Junior Marketing Association-CLB Chapter participated in the annual Juan Big Idea Nationwide (JBI), alongside schools nationwide. Hosted by the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA), the event aimed to empower business students across the country. PJMA serves as the official youth affiliate of the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA), acting as a national alliance for local Junior Marketing Associations (JMAs), with over 300 schools and 50,000 active marketing students.

JBI, a key initiative of PJMA, seeks to connect and engage marketing students nationwide by providing quality academic-oriented initiatives. In previous years, PJMA's chapter events were segmented across different regions, but this year, the focus is on uniting diverse individuals from all parts of the Philippines to create one big idea, fostering collaboration and inter-regional cooperation The Junior Marketing Association-CLB Chapter was recognized as a member school of PJMA for the year, receiving certification during the event. Led by Mr. Christian Rey L. Sumanga, Governor of the Junior Marketing Association of CLB, along with adviser Dr. Anabelle B. Perez and Batch 2023-2024 officers, the chapter continues to embody the spirit of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

As PJMA continues its Juanderful journey, it underscores the beauty of collaboration and unified efforts among individuals across the nation. This event serves as a testament to the commitment of CLB's Department College of Business and Accountancy, particularly the BSBA major in Marketing Management program, to ignite knowledge and wisdom not only locally but also nationwide.

BSA Freshman Tops Batangas Quiz Bee Competitions

CLIMB Family is proud to congratulate Emmanuel Lei Byron Mendoza, a freshman BSA student for achieving the highest score on the exam/quiz bee conducted by PICPA Batangas this April 7, 2024. Mendoza will represent the PICPA Batangas Chapter in the upcoming regional competitions. Mendoza also recently represented CLB in the Regional Higher Education Press Conference and is the current Mr. CLB 2023 2nd runner-up. The CLIMB Family is so happy about your success!

CLB Joins LHEPC 2024: AI and Ethics: Shaping th Future of campus Journalism in the Digital Age

Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas joined the delegates of Region IV-A as they tried their mettle in different fields of journalism at the 19th Luzon Higher Education Press Conference held at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City from March 19-21, 2024. CLIMB’s Editor-In-Chief Catherine Narzoles was the school’s representative for the competitions that drew 850 delegates from 146 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from all over Luzon. She was accompanied by CLIMB Lead Adviser, Mr. Jericho S. Alay.

At the end of the 3-day conference, Region IV-A finished 3rd over-all behind Region III who was adjudged over-all champion and Region V who finished 1st runner-up. On the group categories CALABARZON finished 2nd over-all and 4th over-all in the individual events. The press conference was a test for every journalist and school as they battle it out with group categories (tabloid, magazine, newsletter and literary folio) as well as the individual events both in English and Filipino. The comeback of the Annual Mr. and Ms. LHEPC also showcased beauty and brains of every journalist from all over Luzon. This was a historical moment for CLB as it marked the first time the college has qualified for the Luzonwide competitions. It was a stepping stone indeed for the academe to push forward for more in the years to come.

It was also a momentous event for LHEPC as it finally came back after a hiatus due to the pandemic. The event also saw the acceptance of Region IV-A Calabarzon as the host of the 20th LHEPC in 2025. It is without a doubt that campus journalism remains to be strong and will continue its ascent to greater heights in the foreseeable future.
