The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas is the only local college in Batangas City; the capital city of the Province of Batangas which has a distinguished history in the field of education. From its humble beginning in 2005, it has continued to commit itself to serving financially challenged but deserving students.
October 17, 2024 —Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) hosted an impactful event at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum, uniting all CLBians for an inspiring discussion on mental health and motivation. With the themes “One Voice for Mental Health: Advocating Together” and “Motivation: Preparing the Right Mindset and Attitude,” the event aimed to empower students in overcoming personal and academic challenges.
The program kicked off with traditional ceremonies and powerful speeches, including opening remarks from Dr. Lorna L. Gappi, who emphasized the importance of mental health awareness among youth. Keynote speaker, Mr. Kenneth Lloyd M. Camaclang, motivated students with insights on finding personal drive and resilience. His closing message, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars,” left students feeling hopeful and determined.
In addition to the motivational talks, the event also featured a range of creative competitions, including spoken poetry, songwriting, interpretative dance, and visual arts. The Cultural Room buzzed with talent as students showcase their skills. Winners included Mark Joseph T. Cueto (Spoken Poetry), Chester Romey (Songwriting), Melvin Ebora (Poster Making), Analyn Custodio (Drawing Competition) and the Interpretative Dance Competition saw the College of Business and Accountancy taking home the championship title.
The event also included a movie marathon of A Beautiful Mind and fun activities like a Photobooth and Affirmation Booth. With the successful celebration of creativity and motivation, CLB students left feeling inspired, supported, and more connected to their community.

October 12, 2024 — Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) held the second edition of the CLB 101 Seminar, themed “Instilling CLB Foundations: Empowering CLBians Through Core Values.” The event aimed to align first-year students with the institution’s goals while honoring CLB’s foundation by instilling its core values.
Mr. Gail Magalang, Head of Student Affairs Services, opened the event with a warm welcome and an inspirational message. Following this, Mr. James B. Macalalad, Coordinator for Extension Services, shared the Statement of Purpose. Ms. Charity G. Maaño, CLB 101 Instructor introduced the first Resource Speaker, Mr. Mark Glenn Celis who left a word “Kung ano kami ngayon, at kung maging ano kami bukas, that's because of CLB." He also added, "Ang excellence ay di nasusukat sa award na nakukuha.", The next resource speaker was presented by Engr. Marcos C. Borbon - Mr. Arvin De Mesa, the owner of Arzhel's Sneaker House. He is a successful entrepreneur and he shared his insights on perseverance and self-belief, urging the students to strive for their goals: "Isipin niyo ay makatapos, sa kahirapan ay makaraos." He also emphasized the importance of resourcefulness, saying, "Di pwedeng matalino ka lang dapat may diskarte ka rin."
One of the event’s highlights was the CLB Hymn Interpretation Competition, where first-year students showcased their talents. Mr. Macalalad presented the judging criteria, and the esteemed judges—Ms. Jeramie Meliton, Ms. Lucie Pureza, and Mr. Arvin De Mesa— who assessed the performances. BSBA Marketing claimed first place, followed by BSBA HRM in second, and BPED in third.
Certificates of appreciation were distributed at the conclusion of the event, and Mr. Melchor Panganiban, the NSTP Coordinator, gave the closing remarks. Mr. Jericho Alay, Lead Adviser of the Student Publication served as the master of ceremony.
This seminar reaffirmed the school's dedication to ensuring that students internalize its core values and are equipped for success in the future.

October 12, 2024 - After the initial pool of players were revealed, an additional pool of student ML players were invited via callbacks. Various students from different programs of Collegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas gathered as they represent each of their own strength and tactics while trying to dominate the opposition. A total of 24 hopefuls gathered and tried their mettle once more against the first batch of players already chosen for the esports pool.
Presiding over the scrims and callbacks for the Mobile Legends squad was the head coach, Mr. Jericho Alay who also reiterated that the intention of the esports team is to establish a group of young individuals who will be trained not only on technical skills but also good attitude, teamwork and collaborative efforts.
The team also intends to field in strong delegation to the upcoming National Championships (Regional Qualifiers) of Estudyante Esports to show that CLB as a community is also expanding its sports and development program. The regional qualifiers are set on November 4-6 and 11-13 with the Regional Championships slated at November 23.

October 13, 2024 - CLB Sports and Development held a competitive tryout for students aiming to secure a spot as official athletes for BUSCAA 2024 at the Batangas Badminton Center. The event featured a single-elimination format, with matches played to 31 points, showcasing the skills and determination of participants.
The standout athletes chosen to represent CLB are Gerralym Villanueva, Angelyka Culiat, Vanessa Gante, and Sandra Nichole Dala for the women’s team, and Daniel Delen and Kirby Balinton for the men’s team. These athletes will represent CLB in upcoming competitions, underscoring the organization’s strong commitment to developing sports talent and fostering a vibrant athletic community.

September 27, 2024 - The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) Alumni Association and Alumni Relations, led by Ms. Margorie E. De Jesus, held an inspiring Send-Off Ceremony for the CEDUC (College of Education) and CBA (College of Business and Accountancy) graduates preparing for the BLEPT (Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers) and Accountancy Board Examinations. Held in the CLB Audio-Visual Room, the event was a heartfelt occasion that underscored the graduates’ hard work, faith, and perseverance.
The program, hosted by Mr. Raymond Bombase, a CLB alumnus and Licensed Professional Teacher, began with a liturgical mass followed by a pinning and candlelight ceremony. Mr. James B. Macalalad, President of the CLB Alumni Association, welcomed the attendees, extending his support and best wishes to the exam takers. Inspirational messages were shared by CLB management committee members Dr. Mary Ann E. Antenor, Dr. Dolores P. Boras, and Dr. Rosanni M. Del Mundo, emphasizing hard work, staying calm, and focusing on their goals.
Alumni speakers, including Ms. Maria Mara Villanueva Magsino, Mr. Kenjie Camarig, Ms. April Jane Delgado, and Mr. Loyd B. Como, shared their own experiences and advice, encouraging the attendees to never give up and believe in themselves despite challenges.
The ceremony concluded with messages of gratitude from the Alumni Batch of 2024 and closing remarks from Mr. Niño Adam Dilay, Vice President of the CLB Alumni Association, leaving the attendees inspired and motivated for their upcoming exams. The event served as a powerful reminder of the support CLB offers its graduates as they embark on the next chapter of their professional journeys.
