October 18, 2024—the CBA Alumni Association Extension Services successfully hosted a seminar on the Barangay Justice System at the CLB Audio-Visual Room. The event, aimed at strengthening the skills of barangay officials in Batangas City, saw active participation from various barangays, including Barangay 20, Sta. Clara, Cuta, and 19, along with a DILG Guidance Counselor.
Dr. Rosanni Del Mundo, Vice President for Research, and Dr. Mary Ann E. Antenor, Executive Vice President, opened the seminar, emphasizing the importance of peace and community support. Dr. Lorna Gappi, College Administrator, highlighted CLB’s commitment to serving the Batangas City community and supporting local governance.
The seminar’s key presentation was delivered by Ms. Esther Dator, City Local Government Operations Officer VI from DILG. She provided a detailed overview of the Barangay Justice System, including the qualifications for membership in the Barangay Justice Committee, and explained the Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) process. An engaging open forum followed, where barangay officials had the chance to ask questions and receive valuable insights.
In recognition of her contribution, Ms. Dator received a Certificate of Appreciation. The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Brian Deguito, expressing gratitude for the barangays’ participation and reaffirming CLB’s dedication to sharing resources and knowledge.
The event marked a successful step in empowering barangay officials and enhancing the Barangay Justice System in Batangas City. All participants received Certificates of Participation, reflecting their commitment to improving local governance.
