November 25, 2024 - The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) held its Students Executive Council (SEC) Election Meeting De Avance highlighting leadership, advocacy, and unity.
Dr. Dolores D. Borras, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspiring message emphasizing humility (kababaang-loob) as a vital trait for leaders. Sir James Macalalad followed with the Statement of Purpose, focusing on student welfare and the significance of the upcoming elections.
Two parties presented their platforms and advocacies. The ANGAT Partylist, led by aspiring president Reyner De Guzman, emphasized honesty and unity with their tagline, “Angat ako, angat tayo, dahil sa serbisyong tapat lahat ay aangat.” The BUGHAWIN Partylist, led by aspiring president Rohana Feliciano, reminded students of harmony and progress with their message, “Na kahit magkulay rosas ang bukas… bughaw ang kulay ng kalangitan.”
Mr. Gail Magalang, Head of Student Affairs and Services, closed the event by urging everyone to vote wisely, respect the results, and embrace unity under the banner “CLB as One.” The SEC election is set on November 26, 2024.

On November 13, 2024, the SANTELMO CLB-Pride Association made history with its inaugural General Assembly at the Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas, themed “A Colorful and Prideful General Assembly.
Key highlights included inspirational messages from CLB administrators, insightful talks on HIV awareness and SOGIESC advocacy by speakers from Wagayway Equality, and the symbolic “Thumb Mark of Hope” activity.
The event celebrated inclusivity, resilience, and the LGBTQIA+ community’s creativity while fostering solidarity among members. It ended with the association passionately chanting their mantra: “Tumatalbog, Nagliliyab, at Nagliliwanag!”
The assembly marked a milestone for CLB’s first pride organization, uniting members under a shared vision of equality and pride.

The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) Badminton Team competed with determination and skill in the BUSCAA Tournament held from November 12-14 at the Casanova Badminton Center in Bolbok, Batangas. Facing tough opponents across multiple rounds, the team delivered thrilling performances, highlighted by several victories and closely contested matches.
The Doubles Women’s team, composed of Sandra Nichole Dala and Vanessa Gante, opened their campaign with a dramatic 37-35 victory against Saint Bridget College (SBC). However, subsequent matches against Batangas State University (BSU) and Westmead International School (WIS) proved challenging, leaving them with a 2-loss, 1-win record. In the Single A Men’s category, Daniel Delen showed his potential with a commanding 35-29 win over WIS in the 2nd round but suffered narrow losses to UB Lipa and SBC, finishing with the same record.
Kirby Balinton represented CLB in the Single B Men category and fought valiantly, but he was unable to secure a win in matches against LCC and Golden Gate Colleges (GGC). Meanwhile, Gerralym Villanueva made her mark in Single A Women by clinching a hard-fought 35-32 victory against UB Lipa in the 1st round. Despite her strong start, she encountered tough losses against LCC Silvercrest and WIS, ending with 2 losses and 1 win.
The standout performance came from Angelyka Culiat in the Single B Women category. She claimed a default victory in the 1st round against GGC and followed it up with a nail-biting 36-34 win over Sta. Theresa College (STC) in the 3rd round. Despite setbacks against BSU and LCC, Culiat emerged as CLB’s top performer, finishing with a commendable 2 wins and 2 losses.
The CLB Badminton Team’s participation in the BUSCAA Tournament demonstrated their resilience and passion for the sport. Their performances brought pride to the Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas community, and the team is now focused on improving their skills as they look forward to future competitions.

November 14, 2024 - The "Walk with a Doc" initiative, which was successfully implemented by the City Health Office and conducted at Plaza Mabini Amphitheater turned the commemoration of World Diabetes Day and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week 2024 into a progressive and educational event.
The program, organized in collaboration with the Batangas Medical Society, Diabetes Philippines Batangas Chapter, and Sweet Heart Club Batangas City, aims to raise awareness among its residents about the increasing diabetes cases in the country. The student organizations of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas collaborated to take part under the topic "Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps," through the invitation by the city's Local Youth Development Office.
Before the session started, attendees received a complimentary FBS screening examination as part of the celebration. Following Dr. Donnazon R. Macasaet, Dr. Eden Caringal, and Dr. Lawrence Albert H. Badillo gave a welcoming and inspiring address to begin the actual session. Hon. Marcus D. Castillo and Hon. Claudette Ambida also gave an opening of remarks, both highlighting the importance of holding diabetes lectures and recognizing the event's goal of raising awareness.
The program continues with speakers from the City Health Office tackling various ways to prevent such illnesses as diabetes from tampering with everyone's well-being. With Ms. Anjela Veronica S. Zaraspe, Nutritionists Dietician 1, led the talk about a balanced diet and tips to maintain it. Dr. Liza P. Gonzales, Medical Officer, then proceeded with further discussions of the essence of walking in a healthy lifestyle, expounding the program title Walk with a Doc. She also included in her discussion the preventions and awareness for drug abuse.
It was then concluded with an exciting raffle event from various sponsors that delighted participants and organizers. Dr. Ana Karedsa Besol, a healthy lifestyle program manager, then proceeded with her closing remarks, concluding with gratitude and appreciation to all the attendees.
The successful collaboration and engagement highlighted the importance of community efforts in addressing health issues such as diabetes and drug abuse, fostering a healthier future for Batangas City.
