A stroke of creativity earned Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas a double recognition as Mark Joseph Magpantay, Bachelor of Elementary Education student and CLIMB cartoonist, emerged as champion in the Painting Competition of the Batangas City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), while also securing the Audience Choice Award, July 29.
Magpantay represented CLB in the competition held as part of the culmination of the National Disaster Resilience Month celebration, where participating artists translated the message of disaster resilience into visual art.
His entry stood out among the competing works, earning the top spot from the competition while also winning the appreciation of the audience, who named his piece as their choice.
The recognition adds another achievement to Magpantay’s growing portfolio as a student artist and CLIMB cartoonist, demonstrating how visual storytelling can extend beyond the campus and engage the wider community.
Magpantay’s double win likewise brought pride to CLB, showcasing the creative potential of its students in city-led initiatives and activities beyond the classroom.

Representing Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas, five student artists from the Artisans Guild competed in the “Kulay ng Calumpang” Mural Art Competition held at Calumpang Bridge in Pallocan, Batangas City, from July 13 to 17.
The institution was represented by John Llynmar A. Aldover, Daniel Marco A. Dagli, Jhon Lazer M. Dimaano, Stephanie C. Hernandez, and Aedam Judiel C. Abistado, who collaborated to create a mural reflecting the culture, heritage, and identity of the local community.
Organized by the Batangas City Cultural Office, the competition provided a platform for local artists to showcase their creativity through large-scale mural painting while contributing to the city’s beautification efforts.
The event also brought together artists from various institutions and organizations, fostering a shared appreciation for visual arts and the preservation of Batangas’ local heritage.
CLB Artisans Guild participation in the said activity demonstrated how student creativity can extend beyond the classroom, turning public spaces into canvases that celebrate community, culture, and artistic expression.

Approximately 2,800 students and 600 parents attended the Freshmen and Parents' Orientation of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas in preparation for the opening of Academic Year 2026–2027, held on July 13.
The orientation aimed to familiarize attendees with the college's academic policies, student services, support programs, and institutional guidelines while providing an opportunity to meet the administrators, faculty members, student leaders, and heads of offices.
In her welcome remarks, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dolores D. Borras welcomed the students and encouraged the freshmen to make the most of their college experience. During the afternoon orientation for freshmen and parents, she reminded parents that their role now shifts to that of "consultants," supporting their children as they develop greater independence in college.
Meanwhile, College Officer-in-Charge Dr. Rosanni M. Del Mundo emphasized the value of discipline as a foundation for success. She encouraged students to cultivate responsibility, perseverance, and sound decision-making, noting that these qualities would prepare them for both their academic journey and future careers.
Student support services were also introduced during the orientation, including those offered by the Registrar's Office, Information Technology Services, Learning Resource Center, Guidance and Counseling Office, Medical and Dental Services, Scholarship Office, Safety and Security Office, Student Publication, Cultural and Arts Program, Sports Development Program, and other student support offices. Participants were likewise introduced to the Student Executive Council and the presidents of the college's recognized student organizations.
During the afternoon session, CLB Consultant Mr. Noel Pabiona highlighted the institution's commitment to developing students through quality education, values formation, and meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for their chosen professions and the challenges of life.
The orientation concluded with an open forum, providing students and parents with essential information and guidance as they begin their journey at CLB. Through the orientation, the institution strengthened its partnership with CLBian families in supporting student success and in fostering a meaningful college experience.

CLB Student Action Force for Emergencies (CLB SAFE) emerged as the overall champion in the School Category of the Urban Fire Olympics 2026, organized by the Bureau of Fire Protection Batangas City, held at the Softball Field, Sitio Callejon, Barangay Libjo, Batangas City, July 3.
The team delivered an outstanding performance across various events, securing second place in the Rescue and Transfer Relay Operation and Flammable Liquid Fire Extinguishment Event, while claiming championship titles in the Busted Hose Replacement and Up the Ladder Event to earn the overall championship title in the School Category.
Representing the institution were delegates Ivan James Cañal, Angelyka Culiat, Von Joshua Espeleta, Ericson Garcia, Prince Ivan Fernandez, Daniel Philip Lualhati, Andrei Mathew Tamao, Adrian Jade Sangasin, Brian Ray Tuaño, Margaret Valencia, Jessie Valentino, and Regie Mae Pagsinohin as their muse together with Mr. Rommel Arellano, Mr. Jasper Michael Fajilan, Mr. Darell Lucero, who competed in different events and collectively contributed to the team's championship finish.
The competition was conducted through the initiative and leadership of FCSUPT Renato B. Capuz, DSC, Regional Director of BFP CALABARZON, and FSSUPT Annalee G. Carbajal-Atienza, DSC, Provincial Fire Marshal of Batangas, as part of the bureau's commitment to strengthening fire safety awareness, emergency response, and disaster preparedness toward building more resilient communities.
Despite the challenges encountered throughout the competition, the team demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship and camaraderie. CLB SAFE continues to raise safety awareness among students and help build a safer, more secure community.

Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas, through the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association, celebrated Pride Month 2026 by spearheading and participating in a series of campus- and community-based activities that promoted inclusivity, equality, and diversity throughout June.
CLB Color Fest 2026
CLB officially launched its first month-long Pride Month celebration, "Unleash the Color of You: Pride in Full Spectrum at CLB (CLB Color Fest 2026)," from June 16 to 30.
The celebration opened with an opening program on June 16, followed by an online seminar on HIV, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH), and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) via Google Meet on June 18. The seminar featured Jira Samson and Kirk Sison as resource speakers.
Student creativity and advocacy took center stage through the ColoReels: TikTok Transition Advocacy Video Contest and the Color Your Voice: Digital Poster Making Contest on June 27.
In the ColoReels Competition, the BSBA Major in Marketing Management received the People's Choice Award and first place, while the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education emerged as champion. The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy placed second.
Meanwhile, in the Color Your Voice Competition, the BSBA Major in Financial Management won both the People's Choice Award and the championship title. The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy placed first, while the Bachelor of Physical Education secured second place.
The month-long celebration concluded with the Bahagi ng Bahaghari Awarding Ceremony on June 30, with the results announced through the official Facebook page of the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association.
11th Batangan Pride
The SANTELMO CLB Pride Association also joined the 11th Batangan Pride Parade held at the Batangas Provincial Capitol on June 16 alongside members of the LGBTQIA+ community and participating organizations.br>
During the event, Mary Jane Leones and Justine Paulo Alcantara received the Best Pride Outfit award, while the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association was recognized as a Community Ally for its continued support of LGBTQIA+ advocacy.br>
2nd Citywide Pride Celebration
On June 29, the association participated in the 2nd Citywide Pride Celebration, organized by LASO (Love, Acceptance, Support and Opportunity), SILBI, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). The celebration commenced at Plaza Mabini and culminated at the Batangas City Convention Center.
CLB earned second place in the Bandera Making Contest, while Justine Paulo Alcantara was hailed as King of Pride Parade 2026. John Paul Basio likewise represented the institution as a participant in the Queen of Pride Parade 2026.
National Pride Gathering
Capping the month-long observance, Baeron Antenor, president of the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association, represented Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas at the National Pride Gathering held on June 30 at Foro de Intramuros, Manila.
The association's participation in both institutional and community-based Pride Month activities reflects its commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, promoting equality, and supporting initiatives that uphold diversity within and beyond the institution.
