On November 4, 2024, during the Flag Raising Ceremony, the students of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas came together for a meaningful cause, launching a donation drive to support victims of Typhoon Kristine. Themed "Call of Love for Batanguenos: Give a Little, Help A Lot," the initiative encouraged students, faculty, and staff to contribute items like noodles, canned goods, and old clothes to provide immediate relief to the affected families in Agoncillo, Batangas. The drive was a symbol of the community's solidarity and compassion in times of crisis.
The event was organized with the spirit of bayanihan, where each donation, no matter how small, became a beacon of hope for the victims. The students and faculty were deeply moved by the devastating impact of Typhoon Kristine on their fellow Batangueños, and this drive became an opportunity to show support in a very tangible way. The donations were carefully sorted and packed by volunteers, ready to be sent to the hardest-hit areas, ensuring that those in need would receive basic necessities to help them recover and rebuild.
The success of this donation drive was reflected to the school’s core values of empathy, teamwork, and service to others. Students from all year levels participated enthusiastically, many taking the initiative to gather contributions from their families and peers. The school administration expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response, emphasizing how such acts of kindness embody the true essence of community spirit. As the items were about to sent off to Agoncillo, the students were reminded of the importance of helping one another, especially during times of disaster, reinforcing the message that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others.
