Women's Month Celebration: Celebrating Women in All Sectors in the Philippines

On March 28, 2025, In commemoration of Women's Month, the city celebrated a historic event with the theme "Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas." The program recognized the strength, resilience, and priceless contributions of women in the establishment of families, society, and the nation. The event began with an opening remark that emphasized equality and strength as key principles for empowering women. The speaker reminded women that they should not be viewed as "babae lamang" but as the pillars of families, society, and the nation. "Treat a woman like a fragile glass" captured the need to show women dignity and care. Natatanging Babae Award: The prestigious "Natatanging Babae" award was given to Honorable Vilma Abaya Dimacuha in honor of her excellent leadership and uncompromising service. Her grandson, Santino Dimacuha Mariño, accepted the award on her behalf.

The celebration started with a series of competitions which are speech and literacy competition that brought out the skills and intelligence of the participants. In The Extemporaneous Speech Competition, Nicole F. Cepillo from the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) finished third place, Lhyka Larz O. De Leon from the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) earned second placer, and Monica Kate B. Zapata from the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Financial Management - (BSBA FM) was the winner.

The speech choir competition secured the third place for the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, followed by the Bachelor of Physical Education as the second placer, and the Bachelor of Elementary Education was hailed as the champion of the competition. In an essay writing competition, Trisiha Jane C. Fernandez (BPED) finished in third place, Venette Adriene Soleta (BSA) got second place, and Cherica Mae S. Gutierrez (BSBA MM) emerged as champion. In the poem competition, Nylamre Shaira A. Berberabe (BEED) won as third placer, and Mark Jason Romero (BSA) and Antonette Joy V. Arrocena (BSA) were honored as champions. During the debate competition, the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) was recognized as the finalist, while the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) earned the title holder as champion. Personal awards were also given to Andre Von Icarus D. Valencia (BSA) as the best debater and Yishin Dane V. Gutierrez (BEED) as the best speaker. The event concluded with a practical thing from a guest speaker, which strengthened the institute's commitment to suppress health concerns and overall development. These incidents reflect the dedication of the institution to educational excellence, communication skills, and social responsibility.

The program was capped by an educational lecture delivered by Dr. Allen E. Santos, MD, MPA, in which she discussed Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS), and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) prevention and control. Dr. Santos discussed the signs, spread, and prevention, hoping to sensitize and encourage health-aware habits. With the theme of "Celebrating Women's Strength and Resilience", the celebration of Women's Month was not only a testament to the success of women but also a call for sustained support and empowerment in all fields, affirming the importance of creating inclusive spaces, amplifying women's voices, and breaking down barriers that hinder progress.
