DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Program Holds First Payout for CLB Student-Beneficiaries

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its KALAHI-CIDSS program, held its first payout for student-beneficiaries of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) on July 3, 2025, at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.

The Cash-for-Work program provides social services while immersing students in actual job experiences through 25- or 50-day community service, equipping them with practical skills and fostering a sense of civic duty.

The activity was overseen by Mr. Allan Vic Lualhati, HEI Local Person; Mr. Rommel Arellano, CLB Scholarship Coordinator; and Mr. Goldie Bayran from the DSWD. The CLB Student Executive Council also played an active role, assisting with the necessary paperwork to ensure the smooth processing of the payout. Over 500 CLB student-beneficiaries were assigned to various barangays and institutional offices, where they rendered meaningful service. The first payout, covering eight days of work, was marked by a short morning program where members of the CLB management committee praised the students' efforts and emphasized their impact on community development.

The program also acknowledged the unwavering efforts of Mr. Lualhati, Mr. Arellano, and the DSWD personnel for their commitment to bringing this opportunity to CLB students.

Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas expressed optimism about strengthening its partnership with DSWD through KALAHI-CIDSS, with hopes of sustaining and expanding initiatives that empower students while transforming communities across the region.
