CLB PLACES FIRST RUNNER-UP IN TRADITIONAL SUBLI COMPETITION

Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB), through its Folkloric Dance Group, placed first runner-up in the Traditional Subli Dance Competition held on July 21 at the Batangas City Convention Center, marking another achievement for the institution in promoting cultural preservation among its students.

The annual competition, which gathered participants from elementary, high school, college, and community categories, aimed to highlight the rich tradition of Subli, a folk dance rooted in faith and thanksgiving among Batangueños.

In the college division, Batangas State University – The NEU Pablo Borbon Campus claimed the championship, while CLB placed first runner-up with a vibrant, well-coordinated performance that impressed both judges and the audience. CLB’s participation reflected its commitment to cultural advocacy and offered students a platform to showcase their talents in the performing arts.

In the elementary category, Batangas City East Elementary School emerged as champion, followed by Talumpok Silangan Elementary School and Bagong Silang Elementary School as first and second runners-up, respectively.

Meanwhile, Marian Learning Center and Science High School Inc. topped the high school division, with Batangas City Integrated High School placing second and Batangas State University Integrated School placing third.

In the community category, Sibol Lahing Manunubli was declared champion, followed by Ang Manunubli ng Sinala as first runner-up and Marian Learning Center as second runner-up.

The Traditional Subli Dance Competition is part of the city’s cultural initiatives to preserve Batangueño heritage and strengthen community identity through traditional dance and music.
