The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) celebrated its 2025 Recognition and Parents’ Appreciation Day on August 14, 2025, at the Batangas City Convention Center, highlighting unity and collaboration as keys to success. In his opening message, Batangas City Mayor Marvey Mariño expressed appreciation for the colegio’s achievements and hope for a brighter future, congratulating the graduates and parents in attendance, who were joined by Team EBD.
The ceremony began with a Baccalaureate Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Angel Marcelo Pastor, parish priest of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. During the mass, Fr. Pastor underscored perseverance, humility, and forgiveness as essential in striving for excellence. College Administrator Dr. Lorna L. Gappi welcomed the attendees, emphasizing that togetherness is central to the institution’s success. “Hindi mangyayaring nandito tayo kung hindi tayo nagtulungan, hindi magaganap kung walang pagtutulungan,” she said. Dr. Gappi also thanked the graduates, parents, and scholarship benefactors for their contributions.
Guest speaker Mr. Rhovie D. Arca, a CLB alumnus and Certified Public Accountant and Certified Tax Technician, shared his story of perseverance and resilience, encouraging students to trust in God’s plan and urging parents to continue guiding their children.
The institution also recognized scholarship benefactors, including Soroptomist International Batangas Premier, Isla LPG Corporation, Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc., and the Batangas Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce Inc., which honored their respective beneficiaries and top-performing students from various programs.
One of the program’s highlights was the conferment of academic and non-academic awards. These awards included Best Thesis, Best Business Plan, Outstanding Pre-service Teaching, Outstanding On-the-Job Trainee, and Top Performing Student in Comprehensive Examination, as well as special awards such as Outstanding Campus Journalist, Outstanding Student Athlete, and the “Alagang Gabay sa Tagumpay in Sports Award.” Following the awards, the CLB Folkloric Dance Group performed a cultural dance. The Appreciation of Parents and Guardians, led by Mr. Jeffson Acorda, followed, during which graduates expressed their gratitude for their parents through letters and warm embraces.
In her closing message, Dr. Dolores Borras congratulated the graduates and expressed hope that perseverance and optimism would guide them in their next chapter.
The event served as a testament to the power of togetherness and collaboration in achieving success.
