BUSCAA Opens 26th Season With Celebration of Unity and School Pride

The Batangas Universities, Schools, and Colleges Athletic Association (BUSCAA), hosted by Saint Bridget College, officially opened its 26th season, uniting athletes, coaches, and students in a celebration of unity and school pride at the St. Bridget College–Manuela Q. Pastor Auditorium on September 29.

The day began with a mass at the Basilica Church attended by 15 delegations, followed by a parade of colors where each college carried its banners and emblems.

The celebration then shifted to the SBC–MQP Auditorium, where cultural presentations, folk and modern dances, and the introduction of each school’s muse highlighted the program.

“The energy is high and I am very sure that it will become higher and higher as we move on in the coming days,” said Sr. Maria Añanita Borbon, SBC President, in her welcome message, reminding participants that true victory lies not only in medals but also in the bonds built, the character formed, and the hope inspired in communities.

The program continued with additional cultural performances, the lighting of the BUSCAA flame by Ronn Generoso, the athlete’s prayer led by Sharene Cruz, and the oath of sportsmanship delivered by Gabrielle Mercado.

The rites culminated in the official opening declaration and the raising of the BUSCAA flag.

Season 26 now sets the stage for competition and camaraderie, promising another milestone of excellence and sportsmanship among Batangas schools and universities.
