The Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) launched its first-ever, merit-based scholarship, the "Educating Brilliant Dreamers: Merit-based Aid for Mastery (EBD–MAM)" Program, during a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing at CLB, October 15, 2025.
The program recognized and secured the enrollment of four top-performing senior high school graduates in its Accountancy and Education programs.
The initial recipients of the scholarship include Ms. Chelsea Kelly Balundo Herrera, Ms. Chesca Janelle Paulo Verame (Top 1), Ms. Jully Ann Marie Recilles Gono (Top 2), and Ms. Jhoane Larga Faytaren (Top 3).
The core objectives of the EBD-MAM program aim at consistently recruiting the best high school graduates and increasing the institution’s success rate in the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Professional Teacher Licensure Examinations.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Testing and Admission Services, in partnership with DepEd, will engage ten reputable Senior High Schools in Batangas City to identify and encourage qualified, top-ranking students to pursue the Accountancy and Education programs at CLB.
To maintain the scholarship, recipients must adhere to a strict Grade Retention Policy, requiring a minimum grade of 2.00 in every subject and a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 1.75 or higher, with scholars undergoing an evaluation at the end of each semester.
The program offers a maximum of 30 slots annually, emphasizing that the scholarship is open to all qualified applicants who meet the criteria and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
The initiative is a direct response to the Batangas City Government’s commitment, under the leadership of Mayor Hon. Mario Vittorio V. Mariño, to provide quality education to deserving but financially challenged Batangueños.
CLB will closely monitor all EBD-MAM scholars from the start of the Academic Year 2025–2026 until the day they sit for their professional board examinations.
The allowance assistance will be immediately terminated if a scholar fails to meet the grade and GWA requirements or provides false information during the application process.
