CLB Celebrates 20th Founding Anniversary

Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) marked its 20th Founding Anniversary with a three-day celebration filled with reflection, unity, and pride–honoring two decades of educational excellence and community service.

The series of events highlighted CLB’s growth and its continuing mission of creating lifelong builders grounded in compassion, faith, and purpose.

Day 1: Kuwento ng Pagkakatatag
The celebration officially opened on October 28, at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum with the theme "Kuwento ng Pagkakatatag."
The event began with the enthronement of Sto. Niño de Batangan and a Thanksgiving Mass, setting a solemn and grateful tone for the occasion.
In her inspiring message, Congresswoman Beverly Rose Dimacuha emphasized the importance of mental health, faith, and kindness among students.
She encouraged CLBians to stay grounded in compassion as part of the institution’s continuing effort to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
An audio-visual presentation titled "Dalawampung Taon ng Lifelong Builders" followed, featuring CLB’s milestones and achievements throughout its 20-year history.
Batangas City Mayor Marino Dimacuha recalled CLB’s humble beginnings—starting with only 14 teachers and 300 students—and its remarkable growth into an institution of 100 teachers, 2,200 students, and nearly 3,900 graduates.
He also announced plans for the construction of a new building to meet the growing needs of the student population.
Meanwhile, College Administrator Dr. Lorna Gappi paid tribute to the late Mayor Eduardo Dimacuha, the college’s founder, and expressed gratitude for the continuous growth and support of the CLB community.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony then opened various booths organized by student organizations and partners such as BPI, JFINEX, Artisans, Culture and Arts, YACAP-U, JMA, ATLES, CLIMB, JPIA, Santelmo, and SM.
The first day concluded with games and raffles for students, marking the joyful start of CLB’s weeklong commemoration.

Day 2: Buhay at Sigla – Araw ng Mag-aaral, Guro, at Kawani
The second day, held on October 29, focused on wellness, creativity, and camaraderie under the theme "Buhay at Sigla."
The day’s highlight was the Amazing Race: "Balik-Tanaw, Takbo CLB!"—a dynamic competition participated in by all academic programs, each represented by ten members.
After a series of exciting challenges, BEED emerged as 1st Place, followed by BPED in 2nd Place and BTLED in 3rd Place.
The morning also featured EBiDa Talk, a TED-style session where alumni, faculty, and student leaders shared inspiring life stories and reflections on lifelong learning.
In the afternoon, CLB hosted its first-ever Culture and Arts Festival, highlighted by the Talent Show: "Kislap ng Talento, Liwanag ng Kinabukasan."
The event showcased competitions in visual arts, music, and dance, celebrating the diverse creativity and artistry of CLBians.

Gala Night: Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat
The celebration culminated on October 30, with the Gala Night at the Batangas City Convention Centre. With the theme "Pusong Tagapagbuo," the elegant evening honored outstanding faculty, alumni, and staff for their dedication and contributions to CLB’s continuing mission.
The night of recognition and gratitude reflected CLB’s enduring legacy and reaffirmed its vision of Creating Lifelong Builders—individuals who embody academic excellence, compassion, and service to others.

A Celebration of Legacy and Lifelong Learning
As CLB looks back on twenty years of nurturing learners and leaders, the 20th Founding Anniversary stands as a testament to the college’s unwavering commitment to quality education, faith-driven service, and community empowerment.
The weeklong celebration not only honored the institution’s achievements but also inspired every CLBian to carry forward its mission—building lives, shaping futures, and continuing the legacy of being true Lifelong Builders.
