Representing CLIMB, the official student publication, its delegation marked a strong return to the Luzon-wide stage as it participated in the 21st Luzon-wide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) 2026 held at NGN Gran Hotel, March 16–19.
Competing alongside campus journalists from across Luzon, the delegation demonstrated skills and resilience in various individual categories, highlighting the publication’s steady growth in the field of collegiate journalism.
Leading the publication’s achievements, Stephanie C. Hernandez secured 7th place in Copyreading and Headline Writing (Filipino), marking CLIMB’s placement finish in this year’s competition.
Meanwhile, Clyde Joseph G. Hernandez competed in Feature Writing (Filipino); Princess Joy D. Cueto in Poetry Writing (English); and Mark Joseph F. Magpantay in Traditional Literary Graphics Illustration (English), contributing to the publication’s overall representation in both writing and literary categories.
Furthermore, during the closing ceremony, the Association of Luzon-wide Tertiary Press Advisers President announced a significant milestone in collegiate journalism, as the Luzon-wide competition is set to expand into the National Higher Education Press Conference (NHEPC), with its inaugural staging in Vigan City in 2027.
The announcement means student journalists nationwide have a broader platform, and campus publications like CLIMB can showcase their work on a national stage.
As CLIMB continues its Luzon-wide journey, its publication advances its commitment to truth and responsible journalism while preparing to take on a broader, more competitive arena in the years ahead.
