CLB marks Pride Month through campus and community initiatives

Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas, through the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association, celebrated Pride Month 2026 by spearheading and participating in a series of campus- and community-based activities that promoted inclusivity, equality, and diversity throughout June.


CLB Color Fest 2026

CLB officially launched its first month-long Pride Month celebration, "Unleash the Color of You: Pride in Full Spectrum at CLB (CLB Color Fest 2026)," from June 16 to 30.

The celebration opened with an opening program on June 16, followed by an online seminar on HIV, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH), and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) via Google Meet on June 18. The seminar featured Jira Samson and Kirk Sison as resource speakers.

Student creativity and advocacy took center stage through the ColoReels: TikTok Transition Advocacy Video Contest and the Color Your Voice: Digital Poster Making Contest on June 27.

In the ColoReels Competition, the BSBA Major in Marketing Management received the People's Choice Award and first place, while the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education emerged as champion. The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy placed second.

Meanwhile, in the Color Your Voice Competition, the BSBA Major in Financial Management won both the People's Choice Award and the championship title. The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy placed first, while the Bachelor of Physical Education secured second place.

The month-long celebration concluded with the Bahagi ng Bahaghari Awarding Ceremony on June 30, with the results announced through the official Facebook page of the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association.


11th Batangan Pride

The SANTELMO CLB Pride Association also joined the 11th Batangan Pride Parade held at the Batangas Provincial Capitol on June 16 alongside members of the LGBTQIA+ community and participating organizations.br>
During the event, Mary Jane Leones and Justine Paulo Alcantara received the Best Pride Outfit award, while the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association was recognized as a Community Ally for its continued support of LGBTQIA+ advocacy.br>

2nd Citywide Pride Celebration

On June 29, the association participated in the 2nd Citywide Pride Celebration, organized by LASO (Love, Acceptance, Support and Opportunity), SILBI, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). The celebration commenced at Plaza Mabini and culminated at the Batangas City Convention Center.

CLB earned second place in the Bandera Making Contest, while Justine Paulo Alcantara was hailed as King of Pride Parade 2026. John Paul Basio likewise represented the institution as a participant in the Queen of Pride Parade 2026.


National Pride Gathering

Capping the month-long observance, Baeron Antenor, president of the SANTELMO CLB Pride Association, represented Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas at the National Pride Gathering held on June 30 at Foro de Intramuros, Manila.

The association's participation in both institutional and community-based Pride Month activities reflects its commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, promoting equality, and supporting initiatives that uphold diversity within and beyond the institution.
