September 18, 2024 - Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) Extension Services held a symposium titled “Financial Literacy: Collaboration with CBA Students” at the CLB Cultural Room. The event focused on financial literacy, featuring insights on budgeting, investing, and saving for 50 participants, including 21 first-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students, 16 fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) students, and 13 parents.
Led by CLB Extension Services Head Mr. James Macalalad and College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) Focal Person Ms. Avegail Alamrez, who were assisted by event student-organizer and BSA IV-1 Class President Mr. Aron A. Biscocho, along with event hosts Mr. Mhar Cedrick L. Dimaano and Ms. Angelica P. Belbis, the event emphasized the importance of financial management skills for future careers.
The CBA Dean, Ms. Maria Corazon C. Castillo, was invited to open the seminar and warmly welcome the participants. She spoke on behalf of the BSA Program Chair, Ms. Melissa E. Bathan.
Dr. Rechelle Ann D. Celerio, a CLB instructor, served as the resource speaker of the forum. She was introduced by the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) CLB ALABSIKARAN Federation Year President, Mr. Morie Josh Untiveros, and shared her knowledge and expertise in achieving financial literacy for better personal and household financial management.
Dr. Eunice G. De Guzman, BSBA Program Chair, humbly closed the program, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the faculty and participants for attending the inaugural event.
This symposium marked the beginning of empowering financial literacy among students and parents, equipping them with skills and knowledge for a financially secure future.
