October 8 2024 - Batangas City took a bold step towards a brighter future on, hosting the "Navigating Career Pathways in the IT – BPM Industry" seminar at the Malvar Tent, Pontefino Hotels. Organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the event brought together students, government officials, and business leaders to explore the exciting opportunities within the Information Technology–Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector.
The seminar kicked off with a powerful message from Hon. Beverly Rose Dimacuha-Marino, who emphasized the city's commitment to strengthening its IT programs and preparing Batanguenos for the global job market. Atty. Mercado's inspirational message focused on the crucial role of determination and education in achieving success, while Atty. Batapa–Sigue, in her keynote address, presented the DICT's vision for Batangas City, emphasizing six key principles: bridging the digital divide, pioneering spirit, catalyst for good governance, talent development, private sector involvement, and a multi-stakeholder approach.
The event showcased the city's strengths as a prime location for IT-BPM investments, highlighting its strategic location, skilled workforce, and supportive business environment. Industry experts provided valuable insights into the diverse career paths available within the IT-BPM sector, covering areas like software development, animation, game development, and more. Practical tips and strategies for launching a successful career in the IT-BPM sector were shared, encouraging participants to start preparing for their future careers "NOW."
The seminar concluded with a call to action, urging Batangas City to embrace the opportunities presented by the IT-BPM industry. This event served as a catalyst for the city's journey towards a future driven by innovation and technology, empowering its citizens with knowledge and opportunities to become a leading hub for the IT-BPM industry in the Philippines.
