Leadership Behind CLB's Growth Earns City Recognition

Years of leadership devoted to strengthening Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas and advancing quality education in the city earned College Administrator Dr. Lorna L. Gappi a plaque of recognition from Batangas City Mayor Hon. Mario Vittorio A. Mariño, August 24.

The recognition paid tribute to Dr. Gappi's outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and valuable contributions to the advancement of quality education in Batangas City.

As College Administrator, Dr. Gappi has provided leadership and administrative direction to CLB as the institution continues to serve Batangueño students through accessible and quality higher education.

Her years of leadership have accompanied significant developments in the college, including its institutional recognition from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the advancement of academic programs through ALCUCOA accreditation, the expansion of degree offerings and student population, and continuing improvements in learning facilities and academic spaces.

These developments have also been visible in the transformation of the college campus—from the facilities that served CLB in its earlier years to the expanded academic spaces that now serve as the home of its growing community of students, faculty, and staff.

The milestones were achieved through the collective work of the CLB administration, faculty members, staff, students, and partners, with Dr. Gappi providing administrative leadership and support toward the institution’s shared educational goals.

Mayor Mariño presented the plaque to Dr. Gappi and commended her “outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and valuable contribution to the advancement of quality education in Batangas City,” as well as her commitment to excellence, strong leadership, and administrative support to students and the academic community.

For CLB, the recognition carries particular significance as it acknowledges a leadership closely intertwined with years of institutional growth—from stronger academic standards and wider educational opportunities to a campus that has grown alongside the community it serves.

As the college continues to move forward, the recognition places on record Dr. Gappi’s contribution to a chapter of CLB marked by growth, service, and an enduring commitment to quality, and accessible education.
