May 24, 2024 - The CLB Audio Visual Room was with excitement as members of the CLIMB student publication gathered for an enlightening seminar titled "New Age of Journalism: AI and Technology at the Forefront" on May 24, 2024. The event featured distinguished guest speakers Ms. Maria Rosario A. Lacsamana, Ms. Maria Melinda A. Barre and Mr. Jericho S. Alay, who shared their insights of journalism in the digital age.
Ms. Maria Rosario A. Lacsamana, captivated the audience with her discussion on the new age of journalism. She emphasized the significant impact of artificial intelligence and technology on the field, highlighting how these advancements are transforming news gathering, reporting, and dissemination.
Following Lacsamana's presentation, Ms. Maria Melinda A. Barre, took the stage to discuss Development Communication Writing. Barre elaborated on the role of journalism in fostering social change and development. She encouraged students to use their writing skills to address pressing societal issues and to contribute positively to community development. Her session was both inspirational and practical, offering strategies for impactful communication with diverse audiences.
As the media landscape continues to evolve, events like these ensure that the next generation of journalists is prepared to navigate and shape the future of journalism.
