November 14, 2024 - The "Walk with a Doc" initiative, which was successfully implemented by the City Health Office and conducted at Plaza Mabini Amphitheater turned the commemoration of World Diabetes Day and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week 2024 into a progressive and educational event.

The program, organized in collaboration with the Batangas Medical Society, Diabetes Philippines Batangas Chapter, and Sweet Heart Club Batangas City, aims to raise awareness among its residents about the increasing diabetes cases in the country. The student organizations of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas collaborated to take part under the topic "Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps," through the invitation by the city's Local Youth Development Office.

Before the session started, attendees received a complimentary FBS screening examination as part of the celebration. Following Dr. Donnazon R. Macasaet, Dr. Eden Caringal, and Dr. Lawrence Albert H. Claudette Ambida also gave an opening of remarks, both highlighting the importance of holding diabetes lectures and recognizing the event's goal of raising awareness.

The program continues with speakers from the City Health Office tackling various ways to prevent such illnesses as diabetes from tampering with everyone's well-being. With Ms. Anjela Veronica S. Zaraspe, Nutritionists Dietician 1, led the talk about a balanced diet and tips to maintain it. Dr. Liza P. It was then concluded with an exciting raffle event from various sponsors that delighted participants and organizers. Dr. Ana Karedsa Besol, a healthy lifestyle program manager, then proceeded with her closing remarks, concluding with gratitude and appreciation to all the attendees.
