CLB Celebrates 19th Founding Anniversary: Empowering Students Through Seminars on Gender Inclusivity

On November 6, 2024, Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas (CLB) commenced its 19th founding anniversary with a Thanksgiving Mass, focusing on purpose, sacrifice, and unity. A series of seminars followed, beginning with “Gender Sensitivity and Use of Inclusive Language,” hosted by Mr. Christian Rey L. Sumanga and Ms. Princess Marian De Torres. The seminar's resource speaker, Ms. Ma. Teresa A. Hernandez, highlighted the importance of inclusive language and provided examples, engaging students in interactive discussions on gender-neutral terms.

The celebration continued with seminars for 4th-year interns on “Anti-discrimination in the Workplace” and “Labor Standards.” Atty. Mickel M. Borigas discussed anti-discrimination laws, sharing personal stories to inspire resilience. Ms. Mirasol Celemin educated attendees on labor standards, benefits, and employee rights, especially relevant to working students. Dr. Rossani Del Mundo concluded by emphasizing the significance of understanding workplace rights.

These sessions promoted awareness, inclusivity, and preparation for future careers, inspiring CLBians toward a more just and equitable society.
